WHERE: Meet at 23rd & Reed streets

PFD members and their partners will install life-saving smoke alarms and distribute safety literature around 23rd & Reed streets, near where a fatal fire occurred last month on 23rd Street.

The Philadelphia Fire Department received a $1 million grant from FEMA last year to install 30,000 smoke alarms in Philly. If you know city residents in need, ask them to contact Philly 311. The PFD also has adaptive alarms for the deaf and hard-of-hearing.
