PFD members and their partners will install life-saving smoke alarms and distribute safety literature around 42nd Street and Haverford Avenue, near where a fire occurred last month on Holly Mall.

The Philadelphia Fire Department received a $1 million grant from FEMA last year to install 30,000 smoke alarms in Philly. If you know city residents in need, ask them to contact Philly 311. The PFD also has adaptive alarms for the deaf and hard-of-hearing.
