WHERE: City Hall

Conversation Hall (Room 201)

This event kicks off the 32nd annual weight-loss competition between the Police and Fire departments. Fire won the trophy last year and leads the series, 16-15. Weight Watchers sponsors the 13-week contest and donates $10,000 in the name of the winning department to the Hero Thrill Show, which provides scholarships for children of Philadelphia firefighters and police officers killed or seriously injured in the line of duty. To date, Weight Watchers has donated $267,500 for scholarships.
