The Philadelphia Fire Department partnered with the PFD Family Association to sell more than 2,400 Breast Cancer Awareness T-shirts during October. The iconic pink shirts featured the PFD logo and the phrase “We Don’t Just Fight Fires, We Fight Cancer Too.” At first only available to PFD members, the shirts became so popular that online sales were opened to the public. The proceeds will benefit Mercy Cancer Center’s breast cancer screening programs, which are available at all three Mercy Health System hospitals.
