Join a Committee

Volunteering at the Philadelphia Youth Commission is a great way to get involved in your community while learning more about our city and the challenges we face.

By contributing your time and knowledge, you can learn something new, share what you already know, meet new people, and have fun!

Volunteers must be 15 years of age or older
Volunteers should be friendly, outgoing, and enjoy working with people
Volunteers should have an interest in the following areas
Youth Violence
Programming
Policy
Health
Education

VOLUNTEERS:

Work on a committee of their choice within the Youth Commission to:

Create curriculum to educate the community on youth issues and concerns
Help plan and implement youth engagement events
Assist with hands-on learning opportunities
Help to draft and advise current legislation

WHEN CAN I HELP?

Volunteer opportunities are available five days a week between 9:00AM and 6:00PM. Volunteers may work mornings, afternoons, or a full day, but must commit to a minimum of two hours each time they volunteer, and volunteer at least one day per week. Special Event volunteers must sign up for at least 3 events per year in order to remain active.
