Industrial Waste Unit

The Water Department's surcharge program recovers the costs from treating wastewater that exceeds the characteristics of a normal residential customer. The Industrial Waste Unit administers the City's surcharge program through identification of surchargeable customers and regularly scheduled wastewater sampling.  Surcharge billing is based on the Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD5) and the total suspended solids (TSS).
