Human Resources Unit
The mission of the Human Resources Unit is to attract, retain and develop the most valuable resource the Department has - its employees.
The Streets Department highly values its employees and endeavors to create an atmosphere that provides for organizational and individual
development. To help in accomplishing this goal the department created a separate Human Resource Division in 1995.
The division is divided into several units including Personnel Management, Employee & and Organizational Development, Occupational Safety, and
Risk Management. The division assists each of the Department's operating divisions with assessing organizational structures, staffing needs, development needs, and work processes to maximize their efficiency and
effectiveness.
