The Victims of Crime program primarily serves children and teenagers who are victims of crime. In addition, the program serves adult victims of juvenile crime. Saint Gabriel's Victims of Crime offers its services to victims of a broad range of crimes. These crimes include homicide co-victims, physical assaults, shootings/stabbings, muggings, break-ins. The program also serves a limited number of children who have been sexually abused. Our counseling is family focused. We believe that although one family member may have been the direct victim, in most instances the commission of a crime against one family member affects the entire family. The length of treatment is determined on a case-by-case basis depending on the needs of the victims and their family. Referrals are made to other community-based service providers and trauma specialists when appropriate. Parents or guardians of victims can request services directly by contacting St. Gabriel’s office.
