Creative Resolution Theater
A touring interactive theatre that helps children and adults move from conflict to creative resolution in a fun, safe, and supportive environment.

Peaceful Posse
Peaceful Posse is a program that offers skills for healing, mentoring and promoting peace to communities whose children have been exposed to high levels of violence.  Within the Recreation Department, the program focuses on boys who experience and witness acts of violence in their daily lives, at home, in school, and in the neighborhood.

Violence Reduction Staff Training Sessions
The Department, in collaboration with the Redesigning Government Initiative (RGI) has organized staff training to address the topic of Workplace Violence.  Eighty staff members representing various divisions have participated thus far.

 The After School Program offers workshops to assist staff in addressing the topic of "Bullying", as well as "Building Positive Verbal Environments", and "Building Positive Relationships with Parents" are also conducted.   Conflict Resolution Workshops are offered for youth in all after school and camp programs, as well as staff training.

Teen Centers  
Teen Centers are being created to provide non-school-hour recreational and social programming opportunities for high risk and previously adjudicated youth ages 14 to 22.  The teen centers will complement the Youth Violence Reduction Initiative (YVRP), a multi agency initiative aimed at reducing homicides among youth.
