2007 Spring into Your Park
Clean, Play, Celebrate in your park
Saturday, April 21, 2007

The 8th annual Spring Into Your Park will be held Saturday, April 21st. This collaborative event, co-sponsored by the members of the parks network, PHS, the Department of Recreation, and Fairmount Park with support from the Neighborhood Transformation Initiative, TreeVitalize, the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and the Great PA Cleanup, is designed to highlight the importance of parks in community life and the strength of the citywide parks network. During this year's event, over fifty parks will be holding cleanups, workdays, festivals, plantings, and much more. Volunteers of all ages are welcome to participate.

Spring Into Your Park will also mark the start of "Planting Peace in Philly," a year-long campaign to raise awareness of the importance of greening in our communities and the role that parks and recreation play in preventing violence. On the 21st, fourteen parks will plant more than fifty trees as part of the kick-off for "Planting Peace in Philly."
