Safe Streets Neighborhood Fun Days 2007

Under the leadership of Philadelphia Mayor John Street and Recreation Commissioner Vic Richard, the Recreation Department will host Safe Streets Neighborhood Fun Days in several different recreation facilities.

The events are scheduled in the following neighborhoods from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm:

Non-competitive events along with competitive field day events, organized games and interactive recreation activities will involve 1,500 youngsters per day for a total of 7,500 youth served.  Awards are given out in six age categories for first through fifth place in various activities.  Competitions included Sack Races, Wacky Batty Races, and Egg on Spoon Races.  Interactive games feature a Moon Bounce, Climbing Wall and an Obstacle Course.
