Urban Idol 2007 For Teens

The Philadelphia Department of Recreation will present its second Urban Idol Competition this summer for teens at the following recreation cenrters The events are FREE of charge and everyone is welcome to attend and cheer on our performers who will be showcasing their talent singing their favorite song. The performers will be judged on stage presence, projection and tonal quality. Each finalist will be given the opportunity to perform at a Dell East Essence of Entertainment event and recive an iPod. The Dell East is located at 3500 Strawberry Mansion Drive (33^rd & Ridge Avenue).

To participate you must be between the ages of 13 and 18, individuals only, and supply your own music. Each performer will have a maximum of four minutes.

There will be 10 district events:.

Northern Liberties R.C.
May 10th, 6:00 p.m.

Simons Recreation Center
May 17th, 6:00 p.m.

Water Tower Recreation Center
May 24th, 6:00 p.m.

Jardel Recreation Center
June 7th, 6:00 p.m.

Bridesburg Recreation Center
June 13th, 6:00 p.m.

C. B. Moore Recreation Center
June 20th, 6:00 p.m.

Shepard Recreation Center
June 21st 6:00 p.m.

Vare Recreation Center
July 12th, 6:00 p.m.

Rivera Recreation Center
July 18th, 6:00 p.m.

Kingsessing Recreation Center
July 19th, 6:00 p.m.

All 10 winners will perform at the Urban Idol Finale at the Dell East at a date to be announced.
