Citywide Visual Arts Committee - each of the eight Recreation Districts has one or two committee members who can help you find Visual Arts Programs in your distict.

Visual Arts Classes
Classes in Arts & Crafts, Ceramics, Painting, Pottery and other Visual Arts.

Arts & Crafts
Programs for children of various ages, at many of our recreational sites throughout the city.  Some sites also offer these classes for teens and adults.

Ceramics Classes
Programs for children, teens and adults at various recreational sites throughout the city, Beginners through Advanced.

Painting Classes
Children, Teens, Adults - Media and skill levels offered vary from site to site.

Pottery Classes
Children, Inter-generational and Adult Classes in hand-building (slab and coil)

Spring Art Show
Approximately 250 pieces of artwork by preschoolers through senior citizens done in the above listed classes in all areas of the city are on display in a one week art show at the Gallery at Market East, 9th & Market Streets, May 21st to May 29th.

Summer Art Camp
Qualified professional artists will provide instructions in Drawing, Graphics, Painting,
Sculpture, Pottery and Enameling to young artists, ages 9 to 18, in an outdoor setting. Call 215-685-2871 for a brochure and application.

Fall Art Camp
Classes in Painting, Sculpture, Drawing and Masking Tape Sculpture at Three Locations for Seven Weeks in the Fall.

Winter Art Camp
Classes in Painting, Sculpture, Drawing, Pottery and Jewelry Making at Four Locations for Seven Weeks in the Winterl.

Phred the Panda (The Recreation Departmentīs Mascot)
Phred the Panda is our mascot and he is also our goodwill ambassador who appears at many recreational events. Phred will celebrate his 18th birthday on June 25, 2007.
