INTRO TO THE PERFORMING ARTS CAMP 2007
This  program is designed for those children with an expressed interest in the performing arts. Children, ages 6 to 10 will have the opportunity to take classes in singing, acting and creative movement. The campers will also perform in a presentation at the end of the six week camp.

July 2 to August 10, 2007 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
(closed on July 4th)

  • Ages 6 to 10
  • Fee: $180 for a six-week encampment.

Interviews
All campers who apply to the Introduction to the Performing Arts Camp must meet and talk with our staff on the night of the orientation. There will not be a formal audition. After we receive your completed application, letter of recommendation and copy of birth certificate, you will receive written information in the mail with the location, date and time of the orientation. 

Who Should Apply
This camp is for children who have a real interest in performing arts. If your child does not want to be in this camp, it will apparent in the first few days by his/her behavior. If a child becomes a problem  or disrupts the camp, we reserve the right to remove that child from camp with no refund. This is the policy of the Department of Recreation, so please make should sure your child wants to be in camp.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                

Lunches
Lunches are provided by the State of Pennsylvania. If your child is a picky eater or is allergic to certain foods, you may send a brown bag lunch that will be refrigerated at camp.

Orientation
There will be a parent orientation night in June, 2007, so that campers and parents can meet the staff, ask questions about camp, pay fees, and pick up materials needed for the Introduction to the Performing Arts Camp. At least one parent or guardian must attend this meeting.  The date of this meeting will be announced at a later date.
