There are approximately ten thousand camps in the United States. Less than a quarter of them are accredited. Accreditation is an indicator of quality.
Accreditation is performed by the American Camp Association, the nationally recognized organization that promotes and supports the camp experience.
The accreditation process is a thorough examination of safety issues in camps. It looks at a number of critical areas in camp, including the kitchen/dining hall, waterfront, transportation, and general programming. Camp William Penn has been accredited for the past fifteen years.
Camp William Pennīs last accredidation score was 98. This places the camp in the top percentile of all camps in the United States.
In addition, in 2003, the American Institute for Foreign Study recognized our camp as one of the five most successfully diversified camps in the country. And early in 2006, the camp won a programming excellence award presented by the Pennsylvania Recreation and Parks Society.
You will not find other camps in Pennsylvania with these credentials. |
