                                                           OBJECTIVES

 

1. To provide a wholesome recreation experience in a safe and healthy environment.

2. To teach the skills of Double Dutch with emphasis on sportsmanship.

3. To help young athletes develop life skills and form attitudes that will help make them productive and contributing members of society.

Fees: $10 per team for both Singles and Doubles.

 

                                                        ELIGIBILITY

 

A. All participants must be residents of Eastern Pennsylvania.

 

B. All team members must compete within their own grades.  No one under the 4th grade may compete.  See Double Dutch Rules Booklet (available from the Sports & Athletics Office) for additional information regarding eligibility.  The grades are:

 

4th Grade

5th Grade

6th Grade

7th Grade

8th Grade

High School

             

       

 C. Entry fee is $10.00 per team for both singles and doubles. Money Orders should be made payable to : Citywide Sports & Athletics.

  

                                                     THE COMPETITION

 

A. Each team must perform 3 tests in order - Compulsory, Speed, Freestyle. The scores for all 3 tests are then totaled.

 

B. Any number of teams from an organization may compete.

  

DOUBLE DUTCH RULES BOOKLET - If you are conducting a competitive Double Dutch program, it is recommended that each coach have a copy of the rules.  Rules are available at the Sports & Athletics Office (683- 3674) and Finley Recreation Center (685-2890).

 

                                    TO REGISTER FOR THE COMPETITION:

 

    Entry forms and trick description sheets may be picked up from the Sports & Athletics Office (683-3674) or Finley Recreation Center (685-2890)

 

1. One entry form is needed for each team (Singles & Doubles for each grade can be entered on the same sheet). All information must be typed or printed clearly, and the coach must sign and date the form.

 

2. A trick description sheet must be filled out for each freestyle routine. Trick description sheet must be turned in with the entry form.

 

NOTE: If brought to the competition, it MUST be filled out before you arrive and submitted at check-in no later than 6:30 PM  Failure to comply could eliminate that team from competition.

 

                                            ENTRY FEES and DEADLINE

Entry Fee - 10.00 per Singles Team and 10.00 per Doubles Team, Make Check or Money Order payable to Citywide Sports & Athletics

 

Late Entries - Entries received after the deadline may be assessed a 10.00 per team late fee charge. Make check or Money Order payable to Citywide Sports & Athletics No entries will be accepted at the competition.
