Introduction to the Performing Arts Camp - 2008

 
This  program is designed for those children with an expressed

interest in the performing arts. Children, ages 6 to 10 will have the

opportunity to take classes in singing, acting and creative movement.

The campers will also perform in a presentation at the end of the six

week camp.


















 

 

 

July 7 to August 15, 2008 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

  • Ages 6 to 10
  • Fee: $180 for a six-week encampment.

Holmesburg Recreation Center
Rhawn and Ditman
in Northeast Philadelphia

 

Waterview Recreation Center
Rittenhouse and McMahon Streets
in the Germantown Section

      Camp Fees for Laura Sims
The cost of the Laura Sims camp is only $90.00 for six weeks

(this price is for the Laura Sims Skate House location only)!

A money order, payable to C.A.S.E. Advisory Council, is due at the

parents' orientation in June of 2008. (exact date TBA)

Extended After-Hours Care

Extended after hours care will be provided at all four sites from

2:00-5:00PM daily. 

This will require an additional fee for the entire six weeks.

Interviews
All campers who apply to the Introduction to the Performing Arts Camp must

meet and talk with our staff on the night of the orientation. There will not be

a formal audition. After we receive your completed application, letter of

recommendation and copy of birth certificate, you will receive written 

information in the mail with the location, date and time of the orientation.

 

Who Should Apply
This camp is for children who have a real interest in performing arts. If your

child does not want to be in this camp, it will apparent in the first few days

by his/her behavior. If a child becomes a problem  or disrupts the camp,

we reserve the right to remove that child from camp with no refund.

This is the policy of the Department of Recreation, so please make

should sure your child wants to be in camp.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          

Lunches
Lunches are provided by the State of Pennsylvania. If your child is a

picky eater or is allergic to certain foods, you may send a brown bag

lunch that will be refrigerated at camp.

 

Orientation
There will be a parent orientation night in June, 2008, so that campers

and parents can meet the staff, ask questions about camp, pay fees,

and pick up materials needed for the Introduction to the Performing

Arts Camp. At least one parent or guardian must attend this meeting. 

The date of this meeting will be announced at a later date.
