EMPLOYEE ORIENTATION MANUAL
Holidays
Full-time City employees are granted eleven (11) paid holidays annually. In order to be eligible for pay on the holiday, employees must be in pay status on the workdays preceding and following the holiday.
Holidays falling on a Sunday will be observed on the following Monday. If the holiday falls on a Saturday, each full-time employee will receive a "holiday compensation day" that may be taken at a later date.
If an employee works on a holiday, the employee may earn additional pay or receive a holiday compensation day off. If a holiday falls on a Sunday, each full time employee will have the following Monday off.
If an employee is a shift worker, the employee is subject to different rules regarding work and time off on holidays. Holiday
