The Commission recognized its first PaRC Star at it meeting held on January 19, 2011. Richard Yoka of the Fairmount Sports Association received the award for his long time commitment to the youth. His slogan of "everybody hits" has assured that all children get to play. Pictured are Commissioners Nancy Goldenberg and Carol Rice presenting the award. Richie and members of the Fairmount Sports Association were present to support Richie.

The Commission also said good bye to Water Commissioner, Bernie Brunwasser, ex-officio member of the Commission. Bernie is retiring after 40 years with the City of Philadelphia. Commission Chairman Nancy Goldenberg thanked him for his dedication to the Commission and for helping it through its early development. We wish him all the success in the future.
