Mr. Lewis is the Facilities Management Director for the Department of Public Property and directly responsible for the Building Services Division, which is the central agency that operates, services and maintains over 4 million square feet of City owned buildings including City Hall, all Philadelphia Police facilities, and all Philadelphia Fire Department facilities. The Building Services Division also plays a major role in the City's many various special events including Welcome America, Mummer's Day Parade, Thanksgiving Day Parade, and Holiday festivities. Mr. Lewis began his career in 1992 with the City as a construction inspector with the department's Architecture & Engineering Division.

In his current position, Mr. Lewis spearheaded a number of initiatives for the Building Services Division to help provide operating budget savings and improve performance including:
  • Re-evaluation of existing service and maintenance contracts to achieve savings;
  • Consolidation and automation of large commercial building control systems to help better manage the facilities and achieve energy savings; and
  • Reorganize maintenance staff geographically and improve the way service is provided to outlying facilities
Mr. Lewis graduated from Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, and Masters of Science in Information Technology.
