Mr. Punzo joined the City of Philadelphia in January 2004 as a Communications Superintendent, in the Dept of Public Property. He was responsible for the day to day operations of all voice an data communications throughout 450 buildings across a vast array of departments and geography. Prior to joining the City he worked for Verizon Communications for 31 years, handling major accounts such as the City of Philadelphia , Dupont, Smith Kline, and surrounding Counties outside of Philadelphia .

Mr. Punzo currently is Deputy Commissioner of Communications for the City of Philadelphia . He is the representative of the City on Public Safety, which includes the 911 Call Center, Police, Fire, and Emergency Management , Mobile Computing Devices. He is also responsible for thew 800 MHz radio system in use throughout the City and interfaces with the State of Pennsylvania on the interoperability of their systems with Philadelphia 's. He is a member of the South Eastern Counter Terrorism Task Force, which work with the 7 counties surrounding Philadelphia on planning and response to emergencies in the area. He has participated in the Video Surveillance initiative currently underway throughout the 135 square miles of the City of Philadelphia In addition to his Public safety roles he handles the Municipal Call Center and is working on the upgrade to a 311 non- emergency call center, as well as the Municipal Radio Dispatch Center .

In his spare time he enjoys golfing and running. Mr. Punzo is a graduate of the Community College of Philadelphia holding an Associate Degree in Business Management and is continuing his education through Lasalle University and Temple University in Business Management and Communications
