Special Services

The Procurement Department’s Special Services Unit provides various functions to other City agencies. Those functions include:

• Citywide asset inventory management
• Surplus disposal
• Inspection of commodities purchased under City contracts
• Inspection and verification of Local Business Entities
• Advertisement of various City functions, including but not limited to Procurement bids and RFP’s and various political announcements tied to national, state and local political cycles

Surplus Disposal

Pursuant to Section 8-203 of the Philadelphia Home Rule Charter, the Procurement Department has responsibility for the disposition of any surplus or unserviceable personal property for all City departments, boards, commissions, and agencies.
