Warden Karen Bryant was featured in the January 2012 issue of American Corrections Today magazine. Warden Bryant spoke in the importance of continued education in the corrections field as well as taking advantage of opportunities when they arise.

Commissioner Giorla, Warden Bryant, Deputy Warden Hatcher and staff greet Elvis, a silver pit bull, and the New Leash on Life program participants. The New Leash on Life program teaches inmates to train and socialize rescued dogs to be adopted into welcoming homes.

Mayor Michael Nutter joins Prison's Commissioner Louis Giorla, Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey and Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers along with the Prisons Deputy Commissioners: Robert Tomaszewski, Reginald Hammond and Rodney Brockenbrough in attending the press conference for the Badges of Honor 5K Run.

On Saturday June 6, 2009 at the sports complex in South Philadelphia over 75 of the Prisons finest ran, walked in support of the BADGES OF HONOR fund raising event. Nearly every discipline was represented, Inmate Services, Behavioral Health, and every custody rank showed up making some noise and standing tall for a good cause. Although the Police Department took the trophy we intend to smoke 'em next year so start training now!
