News Warden Karen Bryant was featured in the January 2012 issue of American Corrections Today magazine. Warden Bryant spoke in the importance of continued education in the corrections field as well as taking advantage of opportunities when they arise.
Warden Bryant reflected on the support she has received from Commissioner Giorla and the PPS staff while in pursuit of her career and how she intends to pay it forward. more >> Commissioner Giorla, Warden Bryant, Deputy Warden Hatcher and staff greet Elvis, a silver pit bull, and the New Leash on Life program participants. The New Leash on Life program teaches inmates to train and socialize rescued dogs to be adopted into welcoming homes.

Died in the line duty:Thursday, May 31, 1973 Linward Crowe accepting Volunteer of the Year Award at the 30th Annual Volunteer Recognition Banquet, Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Center, on Thursday, June 18, 2009. Left to right: Warden William Lawton, Father Gregory Cozzubbo (Director of Chaplaincy Services), Rev. Linward Crowe, Deputy Commissioner Reginald Hammond, and Volunteer Services Director Loida Moreno. Rev. Crowe is a representative of The Navigators, an international mentoring and discipleship organization, and volunteers weekly at Curran Fromhold Correctional Facility with the Impacting Your World Ministries. He has also been active in the Kingdom Care Re-entry Network, and in many city-wide efforts to improve the success of ex-offenders upon their return to our communities.
