Philly Counts Campaign

Philly Counts wants every Philadelphia resident to stand up and be counted in the 2010 federal Census.

The campaign will raise awareness about the Census and its importance to Philadelphia; dispel myths that may prevent people from being counted; and encourage all Philadelphians—especially those deemed hardest-to-count—to participate in the 2010 Census. MORE » | DOWNLOAD PDF

iCount Philly

Every 10 years, under our Constitution, the U.S. Census Bureau conducts a count of all Americans and households.

This includes lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans and our families. While the census is an imperfect instrument for counting the LGBT community, it is still critical that we all participate and are aware of how the census relates to us and our families. MORE »

U.S. Census 2010

The U.S. Census counts every resident in the United States, and is required by the Constitution to take place every 10 years.

The 2010 Census will help communities receive billions of dollars in federal funds each year. The data collected by the census also help determine the number of seats your state has in the U.S. House of Representatives. MORE »

The Latino Complete Count Committee (Comite Latino por un Censo Completo) is a network of organizational partners that includes CBO’s, churches, businesses and community activists. Its primary purpose is two-fold: 1) to increase awareness of the importance of the census and, 2) to encourage all Latino residents to actively participate in the 2010 census.

There are Questionnaire Assistance Centers which provide in-person information and language assistance in completing your 2010 Census Form. Be Counted Forms are also available at all locations. Find a help center nearest you.

Executive Order 8-09

On Tuesday, November 10, 2009, Mayor Michael Nutter signed Executive Order 8-09: Policy Concerning Access of Immigrants to City Services. This Executive Order ensures that “all City services…shall be made available to all City of Philadelphia residents…regardless of the person’s citizenship or legal immigration status.” Click on the links below for multilingual copies of the Executive Order.
