GENERAL DEFINITION

This is full performance level upholstery work maintaining and repairing a wide variety of upholstered items. Employees in this class also cut and repair rugs and carpets and clean, repair and install shades and venetian blinds. Repairing, maintaining and fabricating flags, drapes, bunting and platform decorations for special events is important to the work.

Work is performed under the general supervision of a trades crew chief or maintenance supervisor. Working conditions involve some disagreeable aspects and work frequently requires light physical effort.
