BUILDING MAINTENANCE MECHANIC


GENERAL DEFINITION

This is building maintenance and repair work at the full performance level utilizing several building trades skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing and cement finishing. Employees in this class are assigned to work in buildings with responsibility for responding to the corrective needs of building physical structures, equipment and system components. Work involves prolonged awkward positions, the lifting of heavy objects and some disagreeable environmental conditions. Employees receive general supervision from a maintenance superior.
