TRAINING CENTER SUPERVISOR


GENERAL DEFINITION

This is supervisory and technical instructional work in the development, implementation and evaluation of training programs conducted in a centralized training facility. An employee in this class directs subordinate instructors engaged in preparing and administering courses for skills training and employment development. Contact with departmental and city administrators, union officials, and representatives of other training and educational facilities to coordinate and gain cooperation for training activities is a major aspect of the work.

Work is performed under the general supervision of an administrative superior. Assignments require the use of evaluative thinking and are carried out in accordance with standard training and instructional practices and general work instructions. An employee in this class has a controlling responsibility for the administration of skills training and employee development programs in a centralized training facility.
