AIRPORT OPERATIONS MANAGER


GENERAL DEFINITION

This is managerial airport operations work directing airfield, landside, terminal and noise programs for a large hub international airport complex through subordinate supervisors. The employee is responsible for insuring airport security and for directing response to airport emergencies. Contacts with other airport administrators, airlines officials, and the public are of major significance to the work. Ensuring compliance with FAA regulations regarding airport operations and all other activities related to the welfare of passengers, airlines, tenants and the general public are significant aspects of the work. Work is performed under the general direction of the Deputy Director of Aviation for Operations and Maintenance.
