MINORITY BUSINESS ENTERPRISE SPECIALIST I


GENERAL DEFINITION

This is affirmative action contract compliance work of limited scope reviewing contracts and departmental compliance plans and/or participating in the certification of minority or female controlled firms. Employees in this class are expected to demonstrate continued development in these areas so that assignments may increase in scope and complexity until they approach the full performance level. The employee is responsible for reviewing minority/female applications for certification, reviewing financial and other business records and/or monitoring contracts for compliance with federal, state, and local affirmative action guidelines and regulations. Contact with representatives of various firms and City departments and agencies is a significant aspect of the work. Work is performed under the supervision of a technical superior and may involve rotating assignments between units.
