Go to the Office of Human Resource’s website at: www.phila.gov/personnel
Find "Job Opportunities", on the right hand side of your screen and click on "Civil Service Opportunities" link.
Hot Tip! You can skip step 1 and 2 above by typing https://phila.peopleadmin.com/postings/search directly into your browser.
Find the job you would like to apply for by scrolling down the page. You may also search by keyword.
Click on the job title.
Then click "Apply to this job"
Note: You will be taken to the Login screen. If you are a returning user and already have an account, simply enter your Username and Password and click "Login".
Click "Create Account" on the right hand side of the screen or find "Don’t have an account?" under the Login option and click "Create new account"
Enter the requested information into the form fields, including your desired username and password. Items with an asterisk (*) are required. Then click "Create" at the bottom of the form.
(Make sure to record your username and password before clicking "Create". You will need this information to check the status of your application and to apply for future City of Philadelphia jobs when they become available.)
IMPORTANT: You will be brought back to the Announcement Details page of the job you are applying for. Make sure you see the words "Your account has been created" in the green box at the top of this page before proceeding to the next step.
Click the "Apply to this Job" button. Enter the requested information into the form, beginning with "Personal Information".
When you are done entering your personal information click on the "Next" button located at the top and bottom of your screen to advance to the next form. Proceed to each page by clicking on the "Next" button.
NOTE: Click on the appropriate "Add" button on the bottom of the Education and Work History form pages to include additional information as necessary. You may also add Certifications or Licensures on the "Additional Information" form page with this button.
Hot Tip! You can also navigate through the different page forms by clicking on the drop down menu (also located at the top and bottom of your screen) then clicking on "Go".
The "Additional Information" form will be the last form page you will need to fill out. After hitting Next on the "Additional Information" page, you will have an opportunity to review and edit your application before you submit it.
Make sure to review your information for accuracy before submitting. If all of the information is correct Click on "Certify and Submit". You may also edit your application to correct information and print your application before you Submit.
You will be brought to the "Certification" page. Please read and make sure you understand this page. Check the box at the bottom that indicates you have read and understand the Certification information and enter your initials in the box to confirm your identity, and then click the "Submit this Application". You may also return to the Application by clicking on the "Return to Application" link to the right of the submit button. If you return to the application make sure you reach this step again and click "Submit this Application" Your application will not be received until you complete this step.
You will then be brought to a voluntary demographics page. NOTE: You will see "Your application has been submitted." at the top of this page in the green colored box.
If you do not see a green box with confirmation, you did NOT submit your application.
Continue with this page in order to obtain your confirmation number. If you choose not to enter any demographic information please click "Save Changes".
Congratulations! You have successfully completed the application process. Please note your confirmation number.
If you provided an email address, you will receive correspondence via email. You can log back into your account to check the receipt status of your application.
