U.S. VETERAN’S PREFERENCE NOTE:
Ten points for veteran’s preference will be added to the scores of eligible veterans who apply for open competitive tests and pass the examination (for concurrent examinations, this applies only to applicants who are not currently employed by the City in a civil service position). You must be honorably discharged from the U.S. armed forces. Attach a DD214, member 4, to your application if you wish your eligibility to be reviewed. Spouses of disabled or deceased veterans may also be considered.
This is program analysis work at the full performance level with responsibility for planning, developing, monitoring, and evaluating programs administered by contracted agencies that provide services in the area of acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). An employee in this class examines and reviews program proposals, reviews agency budget proposals, evaluates programmatic and operational activities for provider agencies, trains agency personnel to conform to new policies and procedures, and develops methodologies for collection of relevant information. Contact with officials of public and private agencies to gain insight and render assistance in improving existing services or developing new services is important to the work. Employees in this class report to an administrative superior.

EDUCATION:
Completion of a master's degree program at an accredited college or university in the social or behavioral sciences, education, nursing administration, public health, or public administration.
AND
EXPERIENCE:
Two years of administrative or technical experience in a public health or social science related program which has involved program planning, evaluation or monitoring and one year of experience performing either counseling, health care teaching or patient care in an AIDS service delivery program in a paid or volunteer capacity.
AND
Any equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable by the Personnel Department which has included the completion of a bachelor's degree as an educational minimum and the specific experience described above.
