DUTIES

  This is full performance level pharmaceutical work dispensing a wide variety of medications and pharmaceutical supplies in one of the city's health center or central fill pharmacies. Work includes processing prescriptions, providing technical direction to pharmaceutical technicians, and developing and maintaining inventory of drug supplies. An employee in this class reviews patient medication profile, advises physicians of any prescription problems and/or alternative medications and counsels patients about their medications. Contact with patients, physicians, insurance companies, pharmaceutical benefit programs, pharmaceutical supply company and outside agencies, regarding prescriptions and medications is significant to the work. Work is performed under the supervision of a technical superior.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Possession of a license as a registered Pharmacist as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy prior to and during tenure of employment as a Pharmacist.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT NOTE:
Successful candidates will be required to move into the City of Philadelphia six(6) months after hire.


PROJECTED EXAMINATION SCHEDULE

Applicants will be evaluated and scored based upon their training and experience credentials. Applicants will not be asked to appear to take a scheduled examination.
