DUTIES

  This is specialized information technology work providing technical support for the Oracle Human Resources Management System (HRMS) modules deployed city-wide and managed by the City’s central human resources agency in conjunction with the central information technology agency. The employee participates in the technical deployment and upgrades of new HRMS modules and the operational support of existing components. An employee is responsible for representing the human resources agency during the development, revision and implementation of technical Human Resources Management System modules unique to the agency. A significant aspect of the work is the development, preparation, production and security of confidential management reports for use in human resources analysis, including the collective bargaining process. Employees in this class are supervised by an information technology manager.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. EDUCATION:
    Completion of a bachelor's degree program at an accredited college or university with major course work in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering or a closely related field. Formal training in Oracle E-Business foundation, interfaces, and implementation is preferred.

    AND

  2. EXPERIENCE:
    Four years of information technology experience in an Oracle HRMS module support role, two years of which must have involved implementing module and patch releases within a controlled full life-cycle environment subscribing to rigid change management processes.

  3. Any equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable by the Personnel Department that has included a bachelor's degree and the specific experience described above.


PROJECTED EXAMINATION SCHEDULE

Candidates will not be asked to appear for the Training and Experience evaluation. An eligible list is planned to be available by June 23, 2008. Please note that this examination date is subject to change.
