DUTIES:

This is limited performance level technical fingerprint identification and classification work.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Presently employed by the City of Philadelphia with permanent Civil Service status in the class of Fingerprint Identification Technician Trainee in the Police Department with a Performance Rating of Satisfactory or higher;
  2. and

  3. EDUCATION:
    Education equivalent to completion of the twelfth school grade;
  4. and

  5. EXPERIENCE:
    One year of experience using the Henry System to perform fingerprint identification and classification work.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND/OR CERTIFICATES

Possession of a valid proper class motor vehicle operator's license as issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania prior to appointment and during tenure of appointment as a Fingerprint Identification Technician 1.

PROJECTED EXAMINATION SCHEDULE

Applicants will be evaluated and scored based upon their training and experience credentials. Applicants will not be asked to appear to take a scheduled examination.


EXAMINATION:

Will be related to the duties of the position and will consist of the following:

Only a departmental promotional eligible list for the Police Department will be established as a result of this examination.
