DUTIES:

This is skilled industrial electrician work at the advanced performance level. Employees are responsible for the alteration, installation, maintenance and repair of electrical switchgear, equipment, and fixtures at a large and diversified industrial plant complex.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Presently employed by the City of Philadelphia with permanent Civil Service status in the class of Industrial Electrician 1 in the Water Department and with a Performance Rating of Satisfactory or higher;
and
2. EDUCATION:
   Education equivalent to completion of the twelfth school grade;
and
3. GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
   Two years of full performance level experience in the electrical trade including one year of experience in the installation or repair of electrical systems utilizing switchgear and relays powered by at least 440 volts;
and
4. SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE:
   Two years of experience performing such work or high-voltage primary distribution equipment of at least 13.2KV in a metropolitan airport or a large industrial facility.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND/OR CERTIFICATES

Possession of a valid proper class motor vehicle operator's license as issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania prior to and during tenure of employment in the Industrial Electrician 2 class if required by work assignment.

PROJECTED EXAMINATION SCHEDULE

Applicants will be evaluated and scored based upon their training and experience credentials. Applicants will not be asked to appear to take a scheduled examination.
