Civil Service (Class) Residency Waivers


NOTE: In April 2008, City Council changed residency requirements for job applicants, no longer requiring them to have been living within Philadelphia city limits twelve months prior to the time of application.  But the following condition is still required:

Once hired, applicants are required to move into Philadelphia within a specified time (typically 6 months).

These residency waivers were authorized Civil Service Commission for the following job classes.  Class residency waivers do not apply to appointments from promotional or Career Advancement lists.
