Performance Management
The goals of the City's performance management are to:
1. Drive better results and services, by maintaining a focus on problem-solving and process improvement; 2. Bring the right information to the table, by integrating operational, financial, and other relevant information into performance sessions; 3. Set meaningful measures and targets, by placing emphasis on the Mayor's top priorities; 4. Manage to consistent priorities, through the collaborative setting of goals; 5. Better communicate to stakeholders.
PhillyStat and Philly311 are the key initiatives that drive the City's performance management strategy. PhillyStat The primary role of PhillyStat is to serve as a monitoring tool for departmental goals and city-wide outcomes. Two critical responsibilities of PhillyStat are accountability and problem-solving. To this end, PhillyStat encourages transparency and coordination in city government to break down barriers to productivity. In addition, PhillyStat analysts provide data analysis and support to departments. Please Note: PhillyStat is on a brief hiatus from its regularly scheduled public meetings. We are working behind the scenes to bring our stakeholders new and improved services. Meetings were launched internally in November, 2010. Philly311 Philly311 provides information, directory assistance, and city service delivery. Callers are able to make requests for service online or by phone. As part of the performance management system, Philly311 provides up-to-date data on the delivery of these services to residents.
