Under NTI, the City is promoting
the development of a wide range of housing: market-rate, affordable
and low-income, as well as many developments for seniors and special-needs.
The developments shown above will help jump-start
neighborhood revitalization, create new neighborhoods and revitalize

New River City
In 2004 former Mayor Street announced a “New River City Initiative,” his administration's public investment in planning, rezoning, site assemblage and infrastructure on the City’s riverfronts. With spectacular views, recreational opportunities and access to I-95 and mass transit, this initiative has helped to stimulate private investment along the waterfront.
The City will utilize $125 million in Water and Sewer Bond Reserve funds to catalyze the development of New River City public water and sewer infrastructure. The City's financial commitment will be augmented by state and federal resources, creating opportunities for private developers to commit significantly greater levels of capital, in anticipation of market rate returns. Information regarding potential projects has been compiled and City Council legislation outlining the proposed infrastructure project funding categories and award criteria has been approved. The City will contract with the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corp. to administer the New River City Program.
