This division is responsible for code administration of construction activity from permit review to final inspection. In addition reviews applications for licenses.
Districts Operations Inspects construction to ensure conformance to plans, building code and plumbing codes. Issues "Fast Form" Building permits at the locations listed below

Permit Services Reviews applications and plans for the alteration or new construction of buildings and structures. Determines conformance to the city's technical codes and issues zoning building, electrical and plumbing permits.
Mechanical Service (Plumbing, Fire and Electrical) Review plans and applications for electrical and plumbing permits. Issue permits for activities mandated by the Philadelphia Fire Prevention Code, which include welding, tent installations, tanks and sprinkler tests. Administer contractor licensing examinations. |

Permit Intake (Zoning, Building, Permit Processing & Zoning Archives) Receives applications for zoning and/or use registration and building permits submitted to modify or construct a building, structure or sign; establish or change uses; or relocating lot lines by subdivision or consolidation. Each application, with plans as required, is reviewed for conformance with the Zoning, Building, Mechanical and portions of the Fire Code. Issues and processes zoning, use, and building permits, referrals and refusals and maintains zoning files.
