Philadelphia Department of licenses and Inspections Commissioner Robert D. Solvibile Sr., reminds Philadelphians "They Can Make a Difference by participating in the Community Clean and Seal Program."

What is the Community Clean and Seal Program?
It is an opportunity for community groups willing to provide volunteers to participate in helping clean and/or seal vacant houses and lots of their choice in their community.  Licenses and Inspections will provide training, tools, equipment, materials and trash disposal.

How the program works:
Licenses and Inspections will provide a Field Instructor from the Clean and Seal Unit to supervise all aspects of the program. They will inspect all properties to qualify prior to treatment and to determine if hazardous conditions exist.  The Field Instructor will provide training to all volunteers in the proper procedures for cleaning and sealing, proper use of tools, proper handling of materials, proper use of equipment and the how to respond in an emergency situations.

What will be provided?
All supplies will be provided and transported to the site and returned to the shop on a daily basis by Licenses and Inspections. Trash will also be removed on a daily basis.

"Participation will not only instill pride but will provide a basis for continual upkeep in the surrounding area" says Commissioner Solvibile.

If you are interested in participating or want additional information please call 215 685-6881.
