DUCT WORK
The installation of the ductwork must be located within a single tenant space not exceeding 2000 square feet, and the capacity of the equipment is equal to or less than 2000 cfm.
This permit does not include commercial kitchen exhaust systems.
Penetration of floors, stairway enclosures, exterior walls, roof or and fire resistance rated construction are not permitted. These installations require that you obtain a building permit through our Permit Services Unit in the Concourse of the Municipal Services Building, 1401 JFK Blvd.
Inspector must be notified 48 hours prior to the start of work and the permit must be posted. Failure to comply will result in the issuance of a $75 ticket for each offense.
INTERIOR DEMOLITION
This permit authorizes the demolition of interior non-bearing partitions only and shall not include exterior or structural demolition activities.
Removal of structural members, exit enclosures or other fire separations are not permitted by this permit. These demolition activities require that you obtain a building permit through our Permit Services Unit in the Concourse of the Municipal Services Building, 1401 JFK Blvd.
Inspector must be notified 48 hours prior to the start of work and the permit must be posted. Failure to comply will result in the issuance of a $75 ticket for each offense.
RELOCATING DIFFUSERS/REGISTERS
This permit is to relocate registers/diffusers on an existing system. Nonmetallic ducts shall be constructed with Class 0 or Class 1 duct material in accordance with UL181. All work must comply with Section 603 of the Philadelphia Mechanical Code. This permit does not include commercial kitchen exhaust systems.

RELOCATING SPRINKLER HEADS
This permit may only be issued to a licensed Fire Suppression Contractor. Only the relocation of heads is authorized by this permit.
Heads may be relocated to accommodate new partition layouts or reconfiguration of rooms. Heads may be raised or lowered to accommodate new ceiling height. The Fast Form shall not be used to install new feed mains or new cross mains. A Fire Suppression License is required to obtain this permit. The work must be performed by persons possessing a Fire Suppression Workers License.
Any contractor looking the add additional piping must file an application requires that you obtain a building permit through our Permit Services Unit in the Concourse of the Municipal Services Building, 1401 JFK Blvd.

WARM AIR EQUIPMENT
This permit may only be issued to a licensed Warm Air Installer.
This permit may be used for installations of warm air equipment in one- or two- family dwellings and other locations if the equipment is self-contained with no demising wall or floor penetrations and has a capacity no greater than 2,000 cubic feet per minute (cfm). This permit includes associated ductwork in one and two family dwellings. All other locations require a separate ductwork permit.
Any other types of installation requires that you obtain a building permit through our Permit Services Unit in the Concourse of the Municipal Services Building, 1401 JFK Blvd.
