The Division of Disease Control (DDC) of the Philadelphia Department of Public Health (PDPH) oversees the prevention, timely reporting and control of diseases and conditions that are contagious and/or affect the public's health. Six programs are responsible for developing and implementing disease prevention activities: Acute Communicable Disease Control (CD) Program, AIDS Activities Coordinating Office, Immunization Program, STD Control Program, Emergency Preparedness and Bioterrorism Program, Tuberculosis Control Program.
