Coordinating Office for Drug and Alcohol Abuse Programs (CODAAP) (continued)
Methadone Maintenance Programs Person accessing these programs must have an established opiate addiction and meet other Federal criteria for admission to treatment. Along with pharmaco-therapy, clients are engaged in both individual, group counseling and are linked with vocational/educational programs and other rehabilitation services outside of the treatment program.
Outpatient Drug Free Programs Persons enrolled in these programs receive a similar therapeutic menu to methadone maintenance clients with respect to counseling services but do not receive pharmaco-therapy.
Specialized Treatment Services Programs incorporating the modalities detailed above are also available to serve the following special needs populations
- Dually Diagnosed (clients with both substance abuse and mental health problems)
- Women and Women with Children
- Latinos
- Adolescent
- Criminal Justice Clients
- Persons with AIDS
- Homeless Persons
Each of these Programs are designed specifically to address the substance abuse issues and other complicating factors effecting these special populations.
