The Division of Technology (DOT) was established in 1993 by Mayor's executive order. DOT is dedicated to creating a superior information service for the City of Philadelphia by acting as a central coordination point to guide the improvement of city information technology (IT) processes.

DOT's main responsibilities include:

  • Managing, supporting, and updating the current city IT infrastructure
  • Coordinating and facilitating the design and implementation of new IT and Web projects citywide and within each department
  • Running an online and phone help desk to meet the immediate IT support needs of city departments

This DOT site will serve to improve communications between city departments and DOT and increase employee awareness of current and future DOT projects. It will also assist in advancing DOT customer service for city departments.
