The Division of Technology (DOT) was established in 1993 by Mayor's executive order. DOT is dedicated to creating a superior information service for the City of Philadelphia by acting as a central coordination point to guide the improvement of city information technology (IT) processes.
DOT's main responsibilities include:
- Managing, supporting, and updating the current city IT infrastructure
- Coordinating and facilitating the design and implementation of new IT and Web projects citywide and within each department
- Running an online and phone help desk to meet the immediate IT support needs of city departments
