The Philadelphia District Attorneys Office has a number of programs available for individuals who are interested in volunteering their time and who possess a commitment to serve their community.
Youth Aid Panel Adult neighborhood volunteers are vital to the continued success of our Youth Aid Panels. We are looking for special people who are willing to give their time to point first-time juvenile offenders away from the criminal justice system and toward more productive life choices. For more information on this program refer to Youth Aid Panel in the crime prevention initiatives section.
Victim Assistance The District Attorney's Victim/Witness Volunteer Program needs individuals who can provide support to crime victims throughout the court process. If you have an interest in aiding people through this potentially difficult time and can provide one-on-one emotional support please refer to our Victim Assistance Volunteer Opportunities section or contact Angela Massey at (215) 686-4095.
Elder Justice Project Senior volunteer attorneys are encouraged to participate in our Elder Justice Project. This program provides free, private and confidential legal support to crime victims over the age of sixty and acts as a liaison to the assigned assistant district attorney. To find out more information on this program please contact Jennifer Bretschneider at (215) 686-8096 or refer to the Victims of Elder Abuse section.
Law Students In addition to our structured intern program for first and second year law students there is a need periodically throughout the year to assign appropriate law school interns to work on special assignments. If you are interested, please contact Catherine Schuler at (215) 686-8704.
Undergraduate Students There are also similar opportunities for undergraduate students. Please visit the undergraduate internship program section of our website for more information.
