Investigation of Fraudulent Property Transfer

The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office announced that arrest warrants have been issued for 15 people following the recommendation by a Philadelphia Grand Jury. The fifteen individuals, including four notaries public, engaged in and benefitted from the creation, notarization, and filing of forged deeds and fraudulent real estate transfer paperwork.

Evidence presented to the Grand Jury established that the defendants illegally transferred over eighty properties within the City of Philadelphia, and that these acts victimized both the legal homeowners and unsuspecting home buyers.
