Investigation of Theft from Archbishop Ryan High School
The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office announced that an arrest warrant was issued for Reverend Charles Newman O.F.M. based upon a Grand Jury Presentment which found that Newman, President of Archbishop Ryan High School from July 2002 to November 2003, had stolen hundreds of thousands of dollars from Archbishop Ryan High School (and thereby the Archdiocese of Philadelphia) and his own Franciscan Friars.
The Presentment charged Newman with 7 felony counts.
