First-Year Law Student Program
Each summer we hire approximately 35-40 first year law students. There is only one initial interview and a 1L student is assigned to one Unit (no rotation). Interviews of 1L summer interns are conducted February through March, with offers being made in early April.   There is a one-day orientation offered to all first year summer interns.

A number of these first year interns become members of the next summer’s more structured Legal Internship Program.

There are no paid positions for first year interns.  All first year internships are volunteer positions. First year law students are encouraged to seek public interest stipends or 100% institutional covered financial aid work study.
