The Water Works Engine House restoration completed
construction in the summer of 2001
and the structure was fit-out as a
restaurant. The work
included, restoration of the Old
and New Mill House deck structures, installation of drainage system, purchase and installation
of new balustrade for
the South Garden and the Old and New Mill House decks, installation of lighting,
restoration of the Forebay area, and restoration of the Gazebo. The total cost
of these improvements was
in excess of $10 million. The Engine House
improvements were funded with City, State and private dollars
while the remainder of
the improvements are funded primarily by private and foundation dollars. |
