The Market/Commerce Underground Street is the primary means of transporting deliveries to businesses
in the SEPTA concourse and to buildings along West Market Street from 16th to 19th Streets. The structure
of this tunnel consists of concrete beams and columns, many of which have spoiled due to water infiltration.
The purpose of this project was to rehabilitate the structural members to lengthen the useful life of the tunnel.
This project was completed on September 12, 2005 at a cost of $436,000.
